Supported Tenancy & Resettlement Team (S.T.A.R.T.)

We can support anyone who may be struggling with managing their tenancy, or have just been offered a tenancy and need help to establish their home.

Supported Tenancy & Resettlement Workers provide practical assistance with anything that will help people to cope in their own accommodation. For example, dealing with benefits, rent payments, filling in forms, registering with doctors/dentists, dealing with social isolation and accessing interest groups.  We provide help if they are struggling to manage their money and bills.

We currently have 6 members of staff, a Manager, a Family Support Worker, a Teenage Parent Support Worker, 2 Generic Support Workers and a part time Administrator.  We have the capacity to support 65 people at any one time.

How can you access these services?

We accept referrals from Charnwood Borough Council, Citizens Advice Bureau, Turning Point, Housing Associations, Bridge Housing Advice Centre, and Social Services. If you are not involved with any of these agencies or wish to make a self referral, you can download a referral form from here.

When we receive a referral form we will contact you for an initial appointment. This will give both you and the support worker a chance to find out whether the support we offer is appropriate for you. If there is a space available you will designated a support worker; we operate a waiting list system, if the service is at full capacity.
